I was just curious who and how many guys will be running 1/10th scale this summer. i still have my 2wd buggy/truck and 4wd buggy but i would have to grab a brushless motor/esc setup and maybe lipo batteries. im thinking of watching a race or 2 at the big house to see the turnout and what guys are running. |

Don't waste your time watchin anything. Bring them out anr race. Why be a bystander? What if everyone else thinks like you then there would be no racing just coffee and donuts.
I'm working on getting the CRT.5's up and running and also the GT2. but I'm looking to swap over to electric for this track maybe a T4 or a B44. We'll see what unemployment brings. |

RENO. Don't they race there? Some one said they have a cool off road with an Oval around it.....lol
Bring them on down to where the real racing will be at this year Nate and also keep an eye on Prarie City's forum as it is very possible that they are going to run weekly 1/10 club racing. |

You guys running brushless/Lipo setups now?
Ive still got a load of D5 mod motors and nimh 3300 epic matched packs...i think my batteries are pretty much crap by now., been sitting 4-5 years untouched. brush motors were always a b*tch to maintain. every couple batteries i trued the comm, new brushes, etc. my favorite races were always either 2wd Mod or 4wd Mod. |

| if i was to run electric again id have to grab a brushless ESC/Motor and a few new battery packs, duno if i can afford it right now ive pretty much spent all my extra dough on getting my nitro setup. thats why im sayin i may wait to see how the turnout is for electric before i go get some new equipment. I have my XXX BK2 buggy all setup and good to go still. Any products you guys may recomend? |

How many batteries you have total for each car? i usually had 3-4 nimh packs before.
What about the Castle Mamba Max ESC and an Orion Vortex 13.5? |

Tekin all the way... I've been running mine for awhile now and it's good. I get about 25 minutes per pack running it hard before the cut-off engages. I use the Tekin 3400 packs and they are great packs. You can also charge them at 6amps+ which takes about 35 minutes to charge or so.
I've talked with the Tekin guys and they are on top of their game, I would have to say they are back in great form.
I have two packs and that's all I seem to need. |

whats the main difference from the basic RS esc and the Pro RS model?
some of the tekin stuff is all on backorder at amain. what other motors seem to be workin really good? Im really surprised you guys would want to run 13.5 motors (same as 27 turn stock brushed) i woulda figured Mod or at least spec class would be more popular. |

The 13.5 Motor is comparable to a 19turn brushed motor. I'm usually not a fan of stock since the power is not to my liking, but the 13.5 class is fast. Fast enough to have fun!
Not sure what the difference is between the pro and non pro version, but I was told by Tekin the standard RS is great for anything 9turn and above. I may be off a little on the 9turn, but it does the job very well for 13.5 for sure.
The Team Manager for Tekin lives in Sacramento, if you wanted to get one we can get them for you at Fast Track Hobbies. |

Boy talk about a flashback!
I couldnt help myself, i got the major itch....i pulled out my xxx BK2 buggy and began my inspection. I threw one of my back-up hitec servos' in it, i already have a novak C2 installed, and put in my original FM airtronics reciever that came with my m8 years ago. I still have a PK2 Pro motor sittin in the back and i cycled one of my 3000 nimh packs a few times which gave me a glorious 45 seconds of run-time,lol. started flyin around the house on the tiles a little havin fun. I think i will definatly have to bring my buggy out to race on the 1/10 track at pcrc, its too hard not to. Joel i sent you a pm, the ESC and motors i have now will work just fine but i would REALLY like to go brushless, i dont really want to have to do all the engine rebuilds with these brush motors like i did before but either way i have to grab some new battery packs. ive spent hours at amain looking at all the goodies, it shouldnt be too expensive to get this car in serious race condition. Now i just really hope we can get a decent sized amount of people out there for a good Pro-Stock, spec 19, or mod race like the old days.
I think tomorow im going to tear the car down for a full inspection, rebuild shocks, check my diff, and get all my parts organized back in my regular bags. Im going to really try to make the breakout series finale next weekend with my nitro, i know the 1/10 track wont be ran but maybe i could check it out and talk to some people about gettin this class full. dave should be pretty happy! Im even considering grabbing one of those Slash trucks to race, they seem to be gaining popularity very fast and i assume there will be slash races on the 1/10 track with the other electric classes. Would be awsome if pcrc had a weekly electric race. |

For anything down to a 6.5 in 2wd buggy you don't need the Pro. If you think you might drop the esc into a 4wd mod car than I reccomend the Pro.
For 13.5 you DO NOT need the Pro. The regular RS will get 'er done without working a sweat.
Tekin is indeed here and at the top of the field. The nice thing about the Tekin is that you will always have the lastest esc. Their software upgradeable with a USB device and it's free for the updates.
I"ve got some new software that I've been testing that will stun most people when they see the speed on the straights...trust me! |
