This is it the weekend we have all been waiting for.Lost Coast Series gets fired up this weekend at Rattlesnake Raceway up in Redding CA.There will be free practice on Friday, also Roar Membership is required for this facility.I think it cost 15$ for the day or 30$ for the year. Also personal transponders are required for all Lost Coast Events. So lets Burn some Nitro freaks.

It would be nice to post a little more info about where the track is and maybe some directions. I assume you would like people to come to this race?

thats too bad, i dont know why there isnt more air-time in off-road nitro racing. the way these cars are nowdays, the speed, handling, durability, etc. we should be able to have aggressive tracks. i know most people prefer the rolling humps and turn left turn right blah blah if thats what i was interested in i woulda just went on-road where you can have much more speed. racing in the dirt deserves more jumps!  the nitro pit layout this year looked perfect.

We arrived at the track around 3pm and there were about 10 to 15 people already there practicing on the track.  The layout is pretty good and it flows well, if they keep water on it possibly it will be good.  The temps are around 75deg F, so it feels good outside.

The step-up in front of the drivers stand is neat, I tried doing a backflip off of it but no luck, might need a little more lip, but it does fling you in the air for some good hangtime.

I should have some video in a few days after the race, and some photos and results.

Kail... Race on..

Good luck to the GFD Crew. Should be fun.

Too bad Stenzels not there this year. Last year he stayd the night at the track and swept the whole thing and watered all night.

By the way did you guy's bring your swamp cooler for your pit. It was 103 in the shade last year at 11 am.

The weather was great and I think we had about 70 entries show overall, so not a bad day.  Unfortunately the day did get long with some lag from the program, but in the end all races were run and there was some great competition on the track that made it exciting to watch.

Both sportsman and expert buggy B main events which were 15 minutes long had a battle down to the last lap for bump position.  The Sportsman truggy main started off with a great battle for 1st and 2nd which lasted for 7 to 10 minutes than the leader started walking away.  The expert buggy race was a good race, Phillip Atondo took the early lead and kept it for all of the race, I was in second just cruising trying to get around lap traffic cutting the lead Phillip had from 19 seconds down to 8 seconds after about 20 minutes but both he and I still had to contend with lap traffic which made it interesting.  Jason Melfa driving an MBX6 took up the 3rd podium position.

John Scott "Nevada" in the expert truggy main pretty much laid it down, he started 1st and finished 1st with a smooth and consistent run.

Thanks to the Redding Crew for putting a great track together, and for all of you that has donated your time and funds to the cause for all of us to enjoy, great jobs and keep it up please...!

Thanks to the Humboldt crew for putting this series together.

Sportsman Truggy or Buggy?

Expert Truggy - Left to Right: Jason Melfa, John Scott and Tim Bollmann

Expert Buggy - Left to Right: Jason Melfa, Phillip Atondo, Joel Hernandez

John Scott 1st Place Expert Truggy - Team Associated/Reedy

Phillip Atondo 1st Place Expert Buggy - Team Losi/Novarossi

Joel Hernandez 2nd Place Expert Buggy - Mugen Seiki/GFDracing

Not sure who this is yet, but his truggy looked good on the track.

Awaiting results and names from the Humboldt Crew.  Video should be up in a week or earlier.

Hey all just posting the points sheet after round 2 totals. Also a reminder about Round 3 @ Thunder Valley Raceway in Lake Port on May 9th.(This facility is not at Lake Port Hobbies) If you have never been to this track this is your chance to rack up the fastest lap times you will ever do.This has to be the largest RC facility in Northern California and I would have to argue thats its one of the best. With everything from a oval track to rock crawling.Their 5th scale track will just blow you all away once you get up on their driver stand and see its massive size. The eight scale track is wide open racing with some changes coming to slow her down a little. This will arguablly be the best track in the series! The location is right of Highway 29 near Clear Lake. For more on directions email John @ www.fastforwardcylinderheads.com.John just announced we will ad to our raffle a gift certificate of $250.00 towards a High Performance valve job and port work for any single cylinder four stroke ATV or Motorcycle 50cc to 450cc.Hope all from the north will make it.

Here is the current points after round 5.Thanks Kraig for putting on a great race and having a perfect track for us.Curtis Door proved he is  a force to be reckoned with winning both classes Gregg Newman pulls out a second in the buggy class he's trying to put the nail in the coffin on this series.Looks like Gregg  is on his way to winning the LCS for the second time. James Spears is relentless in his pursuit for the podium this year.James is looking for his second LCS win. He's the only threat to first place in the expert buggy class. Thanks to all the racers. Pics will be posted soon.

Dizzy your points total for  me is wrong.  Your missing my 88 points from round 2 at Delta. My total should 203. 88+115= 203
